What is Huron Valley Rec Soccer?
Recreation soccer is for those players that are seeking a fun, ten week season of soccer in the spring and/or fall. Teams play four games at home at our fields in Highland, and four games at other clubs within a modest distance. The teams are all parent coached. Practices are held at our home fields in Highland. Practice days and times are decided by the volunteer/parent coach, based on his/her personal family and work schedule. It is common for there to be two practices a week. Games are played on a Saturday or Sunday. Occasionally, a weekday game will occur. Our youth recreation teams play in the WSSL league, the largest youth soccer league in Michigan. The Huron Valley recreational program is for all youth players, aged 8 thru high school. Assigning players to recreational team rosters on the basis of talent by the use of tryouts, invitations, recruiting, or similar processes is prohibited. Recreational players may not be “cut” from a team. If your teams does not have a coach, a parent from the team will be asked to step up.
The seasonal registration fee to play on a recreation team is $150. This fee covers the cost of all club field costs, league, state, and referee game fees. It does not include a game jersey or practice t-shirts. These items are purchased separately at the time of registration. Players must purchase independently, the following items to complete their game day uniform: black socks, black shorts, shin pads and a size/age appropriate soccer ball.
